Can I ask my funeral professional to purchase one of your products for me or the service I am planning?
You are the customer and your wish is their command! Most funeral homes and cemeteries will be more than happy to purchase a casket from us at a wholesale rate and then sell it to you if that is what you prefer. Occasionally some funeral homes may attempt to talk you out of purchasing what we offer, and try, instead, to direct or steer you to something that they may already have in their inventory. Don't accept this tactic and demand the genuine Eternal Image branded products of your choosing.
Does a Funeral Home have to accept a casket or urn that I buy directly from you and ship to them?
The short answer is YES. It is now Federal law that the funeral service provider must accept whatever casket or urn you provide and cannot charge you extra to do so. We would encourage you to include the funeral director and his/her staff in your plans so that they know what to expect. Most of them are well trained professionals and will be happy to help you plan for the arrival of your special casket or urn and for its use in the funeral itself. Beware of those who are not willing to assist.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) wanted to give all consumers a choice of where to purchase your casket. The funeral home is required to give you an itemized list over the phone and in person including a separate line item for the casket if you ask for it. You can then choose to remove any item including the generic funeral home brand casket from that list and buy the Eternal Image Branded casket from us. They must give you an itemized list but they may also offer Package pricing to include a particular casket. It is illegal for them to only offer package pricing or to not accept a casket from Eternal Image. So, if you don't see the Eternal Image casket you want – demand it!
